Walking Weight Loss
|
One of the best ways to get into shape is to increase the amount of time you spend walking. Weight loss is sure to follow if you take advantage of every opportunity to add another step to your daily routine. At Work
Many of us have become dependent upon email as a way to communicate with our co-workers. Instead of keeping your fingers busy, give your body a workout by walking. Weight loss doesn't occur on its own. It takes a concentrated effort, and one way you can do this is by getting out from behind your desk and walking to your coworker to ask a question rather than shooting off an email. Not only will walking help you keep your body shape, you might also notice your office relationships improve as co-workers are impressed by your efforts to make communication a bit more personal.

At the Store
Many people get into the habit of looking for a close parking spot when going to the store. In fact, they will take several minutes to circle the lot instead of simply walking. Weight loss, however, takes effort. Therefore, try purposely parking further away from the store and increasing the number of steps you take getting from you car to the store. Not only will this add steps to your day and help keep your body healthy, you will avoid the stress of dealing with a parking lot full of circling motorists. In addition, your car will be safer as it sits all by itself on the outskirts of the lot and you will have a much easier time finding it when you are done shopping.
Give the Kids a Break
Many parents get into the habit of having their children run small errands for them, such as answering a ringing phone or getting the remote control from across the room. These are great opportunities for walking. Weight loss can be a serious health issue and, therefore, these reasons to walk shouldn't be passed on to someone else. Instead, get up and grab the phone yourself - and send your kids outside to play.
