Buying a talking pedometer is an investment in your health. A couple talking pedometers have made it into "The Top Ten" of reviewed pedometers:
- Sportline 343 Talking Calorie Pedometer
This talking pedometer "tells" you how many steps you've taken, the distance you've traveled, time of day and can play seven melodies. A reasonably priced talking pedometer at $19.99.
- Spartan Sports Talking Pedometer
This talking pedometer has a voice announcement that tells you the distance you've traveled and the number of steps you have taken. It displays both of these numbers, as well. Can play seven melodies while you walk. An inexpensive talking pedometer starting at $8.99.
Other common manufacturers of pedometers that make at least one style of talking pedometer are Oregon, Maxi-Aid, Sharper Image, Freestyle, Omron, Bally and Sportbrain. The Sportbrain talking pedometer even displays your walking statistics on your very own web page!
At popular shopping sites, a talking pedometer can cost anywhere from $8 to over $30. Buying an expensive talking pedometer does not guarantee quality. When shopping, look for other customer reviews and any studies done using the type of pedometer you are interested in. Those should give you a good overview of the talking pedometer and help you decide if it is the right model for you.
