A blemish is an imperfection in the skin or a flaw.

The majority of blemishes are due to acne or �pimple� outbreak. To prevent blemishes from marring your skin, it is best to wash your face two to three times a day with a mild astringent.

There is, however, a home remedy for blemishes to solve your skin problem.

A common home remedy for blemishes is toothpaste. Use the paste variety, not gel and gently apply a small drop directly on top of the blemish. Let dry. This will draw the blemish out and leave you blemish free. If left on too long, the skin may become irritated.

Another popular home remedy for blemishes is to place a dab of honey on top of the blemish and place a Band-Aid on it. Leave on overnight. The honey should help kill bacteria and assist in healing the blemish.

Tea tree oil is another home remedy for blemishes that will work. This can be purchased at almost any drugstore. Use a cotton ball and apply the undiluted tea tree oil to the blemish. This should be applied three times per day.

Another home remedy for blemishes includes the application of lemon juice to the affected areas overnight and rubbing fresh garlic regularly on the blemishes. There are a lot of products you may find in the drugstore to treat blemishes, as well. If your blemishes suddenly appear swollen and infected, it is important you seek your physician�s advice.
