Tinnitus: Remedies for Shutting Out the NoiseIn most cases, this is usually not a serious problem but a nuisance which eventually goes away. If it does not go away, it may be a symptom of an underlying medical condition such as fluid in the ear, ear disease, a perforated eardrum or a systemic infection. In order to get rid of tinnitus, your physician would usually check if you have any other medical condition. If you do, you would be treated according to what you have been diagnosed with. If you do not, but you continue to experience tinnitus regularly, then you may try some home remedies which can help in lessening the frequency or getting rid of your tinnitus. One of the recommended tinnitus remedies by herbalists would be putting about 20 to 40 milligrams of Ginkgo biloba or maidenhair tree extract into your ears daily for about a month or so. The Ginkgo biloba extract can help in dilating the blood vessels, which can increase the amount of blood flowing into ears. This can, in turn, possibly stop the ringing in your ears. An Ayurvedic remedy for tinnitus would be putting sesame oil inside the ear to relieve the symptoms. However, make sure that this is done properly, possibly by an actual Ayurvedic therapist. Stress is believed to be one of the primary causes of tinnitus, which is why it advisable to look for ways on how to relax and de-stress such as doing breathing exercises, meditation and even acupuncture. If you are working in an area or place where you are usually exposed to loud noises, wear ear plugs or move away from the source of the noise or loud sound. Your diet also plays an important role in treating tinnitus. It is essential to make sure that your body is getting all of the necessary nutrients to function efficiently. Add plenty of foods which are rich in vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, vitamin E and zinc. You should also avoid drinking alcohol and beverages which have caffeine. You can also try a technique which can reduce or completely eliminate tinnitus. It is done by first putting your palms over your ears in a way that your fingers are pointing to the back. Your middle fingers should be pointing towards each other and are positioned on the base of your skull. You should then lift your index fingers and then place them over your middle fingers and then snap your index fingers off your middle fingers in a way that they beat your skull like a drum. This would create a loud drumming-type sound and should be repeated about 40 times or so. This should be effective in getting rid of the constant ringing in your ears. Also Read: |
