Home Remedies for Acne
Acne is a common and embarrassing skin problem. Mostly seen in teenagers, acne may also affect people in their 30s and 40s. The boils may lead to permanent scarring if not treated properly.
Acne is mostly due to bad food habits. Junk food, as well as food that is high in sugar, fat, oil and spice may trigger acne. Eating food at irregular times may also aggravate the problem. However, you need not worry. Some natural home remedies for acne are very effective.
Home Remedies
- Honey is the most effective remedy for acne because of its strong antibacterial properties. Apply a pack of honey and cinnamon powder on the face once or twice a week to remove acne.
- Berry leaves are effective agents for pimples. Raspberry or strawberry leaves can be ground, boiled and made into a thick paste. The paste can be applied on the affected skin, allowed to dry and then rinsed off.
- Prepare a thick paste of yogurt and oatmeal, and apply on the skin. This is very useful for treating acne.
- Another wonder treatment for acne is aloe vera. Combine aloe vera juice with lemon and honey and apply on the affected area.
- Orange peel is also very effective in healing acne.
- Milk can also be used to treat acne effectively. Mix milk with gram flour and use as a face wash. You can also apply a mixture of boiled milk, fresh limejuice and turmeric powder to remove acne.
- Ripe mashed banana, papaya, apple and tomato are great remedies for acne. Apply these on the skin, and leave on for an hour before washing.
- If you have acne, maintain a balanced diet that is rich in Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Your diet should include citrus fruits, whole grains, leafy green vegetables, egg yolks and nuts, among other things.
