Home Treatment for Herpes
Genital herpes is a troublesome experience. But if the infection strikes an otherwise healthy adult, there should be no serious consequences.
Mild herpes is often treated without any additional prescribed medication. Home treatment is often a better alternative for mild cases; they prevent further outbreak while relieving the discomfort. There are no homemade cures for the affliction. All remedies are geared to reducing the infection and its symptoms.
You can use several convenient and easy precautions to avoid an outbreak. These remedies allow you to live your life just as you used to prior to contracting the infection.
Home Remedies
- Hip baths are a key component for avoiding herpes outbreaks. Simply boil water and allow it to cool until tolerable for soaking. Then soak in the water or at least wash the affected area thrice a day to prevent outbreaks.
- Another precaution involves staying out of the sun, and using a strong sun block.
- Reduce stress levels to an absolute minimum. This is sound advice for any healthy person, but especially for people with genital herpes.
- Wear the right kind of clothing. Wear non-synthetic underwear to stay dry. Also keep the area clean.
While home treatments prevent herpes outbreaks, they also control the symptoms of the infection. However, the psychological aspects that often accompany the affliction, whether shame, anger or fear, may be harder to bear. If you have the problem there is the option of joining groups that deal with the condition or even getting some counseling.
