Home Treatment for HemorrhoidsMost hemorrhoids occur because of strain during bowel movement. As the pressure on the veins increases, they swell up and become irritated. Various creams and other over-the-counter products can provide relief. But why turn to expensive over-the-counter medication, when an easy and inexpensive home treatment can perform the job just as well, or even better? Conventional treatments for hemorrhoids do not cure the affliction; they only provide relief. This can be achieved by effective home cures as well. You can counteract the itching and pain of hemorrhoids by taking a hip bath. Boil some water, and let it cool to a tolerable temperature. Pour this water into a hip bath, ensuring that there is approximately seven inches of water in the basin. Add either salt or baking soda to the water to ease the swelling. The pain and itching will subside almost immediately. Repeat this treatment in the morning, noon and evening, ensuring that you use the hip bath for at least 15 minutes each time. Hemorrhoids are a common occurrence among people in their 50's. However, other severe conditions (like certain liver afflictions) may also cause hemorrhoids. Consult your doctor to ensure that there is no other serious underlying cause for your hemorrhoids, even if a home remedy provides quick relief. Also Read: |
