Home Remedy for Urinary Tract Infection

A Urinary tract infection can occur in men, women, children, and teens, but are most common in women because of the warm, dark, and moist conditions of the vagina which promotes the growth of harmful germs.

A urinary tract infection can also occur when one tries to hold off "urinating" which is how our bodies "flush" these germs from the body.

A urinary tract infection or UTI, cause a "burning" sensation upon urination, and itching and pain in the genital area. There are things you can do at home as a remedy for the discomfort of a urinary tract infection. There are also things you can do at home as a remedy for a urinary tract infection that may even prevent future occurrences of UTI's.

  • For relieve from the itching and pain in the vaginal area, fill the tub with hot water and soak in it for awhile.

  • Avoid using harsh soaps in the genital areas as these serve only to irritate the skin and make it more susceptible to "germ invasions."

  • Drink plenty of water! This will help to "flush" harmful germs from the urinary tract.

  • Don't hold it! Empty your bladder often and especially after sex.

  • Drink cranberry juice to aid your immune system in staying healthy and combating the germs that attack the body.
