Home Remedy for Razor Bumps
Pseudofolliculitis barbae, or "razor bumps," is a skin condition, which can easily be cured with the use of a safe home remedy for razor bumps.
Having razor bumps can be an embarrassing and excruciating experience.
How Does One Develop Razor Bumps?
When the person shaving, uses dirty blades or has a poor shaving method. The hair tips are separated from the hair shafts; and grow curling, into the sidewall of the skin follicles. As the sharpened hair tips grow, they penetrate the skin. The skin gets irritated, and develops pimples, cysts, pustules, or papules. Here are some home remedies that might work:
- Add the following ingredients together: 3 drops glycerin, 1/4 cup warm water and two crushed aspirin tablets. Stir until the aspirins dissolve. Use a cotton ball to apply the mixture to your skin and wait for it to soothe your irritated skin.
- Crush two uncoated aspirins; let it dissolve in warm water. Rub the runny paste on the newly shaved areas. Let it stay for five minutes. Wash this off with warm water.
- Cut a leaf off an Aloe Vera plant, and open it wide. Squeeze the gel out, and apply this on your razor burned skin. Let the gel dry on your skin.
- Add one or all three of the following essential oils: lavender, which has healing properties, chamomile to stop the inflammation and tea tree an effective antiseptic. Together all three will soothe your irritated skin. A dermatologist should be consulted if conditions worsen.
