If you have trouble getting rid of head lice or if your child is suffering from scalp sores or severe discomfort, see a pediatrician. In some cases a prescription treatment may be used. Otherwise, your doctor might recommend some other home treatment and keep an eye on the condition. After treating your child for head lice, remove all their linens and replace them.
