Now, let us look at some effective home remedies to cure the infection.

Note: These remedies are not completely effective by themselves. They cannot replace medication. Consult your doctor about whether you can supplement prescription medicines with these home remedies.

Garlic

Garlic is an excellent natural antibiotic. Soak a few cloves in water overnight. Drink the water several times a day.

Ginger

Ginger is known for its antibiotic properties. Drink ginger tea several times a day.

Chamomile

This is one of the most effective remedies for healing strep throat. Consume chamomile tea several times a day to alleviate throat pain and reduce the infection. This also cures dehydration and reduces fever.

Salt Water Gargling

Gargling with lukewarm salty water is an age-old remedy for throat infections. Do this several times a day. The warm salt water kills the bacteria and reduces the pain.

Sage

You can also use herbal treatments like eucalyptus, echinacea and thyme. Combine these ingredients with ginger, garlic and sage to make tea. Drink this tea to strengthen the immune system and provide faster relief.
