Arthritis is a painful and chronic disease that causes joint inflammation. Common arthritis occurs in the form of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and gout, among other conditions.
Several factors lead to arthritis. These include living in damp conditions, obesity, stressful lifestyles, having a bad fall and hormonal changes.

- Epsom salt is an effective remedy for arthritis. This salt and lemon juice can be dissolved in a cup of lukewarm water and taken every morning and night to get relief from pain.
- It is recommended to have two to three cups of alfalfa seed tea every day. This reduces pain and inflammation. Add a little alfalfa to your daily diet to reduce arthritis.
- Cinnamon is also an effective remedy for arthritis. Regularly take half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder with a spoonful of honey on an empty stomach. You will see positive results within the next 15 to 20 days.
- Cod liver oil is another very good healing agent. Arthritis patients can take one to two teaspoons of this oil every day.
- Fresh potato juice is also a great remedy for arthritis. One potato diluted with 50 percent water can be taken every morning for pain relief.
- Turmeric is a very good remedy for arthritis as it is anti-inflammatory in nature. Take turmeric capsules or turmeric with milk to get rid of this nagging disease and relive pain.
- Ginger, another anti-inflammatory remedy, can be taken with every meal for relief from arthritis.
- Massaging the body with mustard oil heated with garlic cloves also provides great relief.
- Olive oil is an effective cure for arthritis. A warm olive oil massage can relieve the pain in arthritis patients.
- Steam baths are also very useful in treating this disease.
- Other effective oils that have strong anti-inflammatory properties include lemon oil, castor oil, rosemary oil and lavender oil.
- Hot vinegar can also be applied before going to bed as it soothes joint pains.
- Flax seeds are effective remedies for arthritis. Add flax seeds to cereal, bread, cakes, juices and any meal to get the desired results.
