Hemorrhoids Home Remedies
Hemorrhoids are a common ailment that afflicts 35 to 40 percent of the United States population. Hemorrhoids are caused by straining the veins and muscles in the buttocks or anal region.
These veins are often strained when expanded excessively during a toilet. Thereafter, we see symptoms like itchiness, irritation and sometimes rectal bleeding. If you find that your hemorrhoids are not disappearing even after using home remedies or if you are experiencing rectal bleeding, talk to a medical professional about having them removed or treated. The following remedies are capable of reducing pain, discomfort and inflammation. However, they cannot cure the problem.
Home Remedies
- One sure-fire remedy for hemorrhoid discomfort is to soak in hot water. A hot bath should ease the pain and discomfort of hemorrhoids until you can make them disappear for good.
- With a hot bath under your belt, apply some lotion. Application of aloe vera gel on the affected area helps contract the welts and inflammation caused by the hemorrhoids. This is not a cure, but it helps reduce the severity of the symptoms within minutes.
- You could replace aloe vera gel with an ice pack. The ice pack will also reduce swelling.
- The best way to prevent hemorrhoids is by improving your diet. Increase your intake of high-fiber foods to reduce stress on your bowels and anal region when passing a stool.
Hemorrhoids are painful. It is advisable to take preventive measures from the outset.
