Water Is Life

Water is life. Literally! It is essential for good health because 70 percent of the human body is water. Sufficient intake of water goes a long way in maintaining good health. Water cannot be replaced by soft drinks because the latter contain potentially harmful additives.

The brain needs a certain amount of water to function well and maintain concentration. One of the signs and symptoms of dehydration include the loss of certain mental faculties. Even our muscles need water in order to absorb oxygen for regular function. Even our bones need water as the joints require sufficient fluid for easy movement. Dehydration can cause impaired movement. Lack of water also shows up on the skin.

People who live in hot, humid climates need water to cool down and rehydrate after sweating. Sweat alone does not cool the body sufficiently. Sweating coupled with inadequate water intake can lead to dehydration.

Water enables the removal of toxins from the body via sweating and urine. Water runs through the body and removes impurities that accumulate over time. It is necessary for the proper functioning of the human body.

Those who take distilled water need to be careful not to lose out on essential minerals. It is better to drink natural water, but only after treating it against water-borne diseases.
