Benefits of Salt
- Salt is a great preservative that preserves blood cells and blood vessels.
- Salt is known for its use in preserving food. Frozen foods contain a high amount of sodium, which helps preserve the food in its frozen state.
- Salt melts ice. In winter, you can melt ice from the sidewalk by sprinkling salt over it.
- Salt is great for toothaches. Add some salt in a glass of warm water and gargle with it. This helps prevent tooth decay until you can get to a dentist.
- Salt does not have too many health benefits but it is a culinary must-have. Salt removes the moisture from potatoes. A dash of salt while cooking spaghetti ensures that the spaghetti does not stick together. Boiling eggs in salt water makes them easier to peel.
Excessive use of salt is believed to contribute to hypertension. Use in moderation and you will not have to worry about high blood pressure.
