Benefits of Chamomile
Chamomile is a flower that grows on the plant matricaria recutita. Chamomile is one of the world's most soothing herbs. It helps people relax and is believed to treat insomnia. There are three very important things that you should know about chamomile. It can be used as an anti-inflammatory, anti- spasmodic and anti-bacterial herb.
- The anti-inflammatory in chamomile is used both externally and internally.
- It treats the inflammation that arises from conditions like gastrointestinal complaints such as heartburn, biventricular disorders and inflammatory bowel disease.
- It acts like the muscle lining of the digestive tract and curbs irritable symptoms such as cramping.
During external use, chamomile is used like a topical cream. It can be applied on mild burns like sunburn and carpet burn, as well as on some sores and to treat eye inflammation.
As mentioned earlier, it can be used as an anti-spasmodic, to relax muscles and nerves. It is commonly used for muscle strain and menstrual cramps. It can also treat anxiety disorders. Chamomile works well on the body, especially on the brain and nervous system.
