Benefits of Caffeine

Some people do not see any benefit in caffeine except that it helps you stay awake longer. Even this is not true for everyone. It all depends on how many grams of caffeine you drink. If you drink enough of it on a daily basis, you could build up a tolerance to caffeine. When that happens, you may have to drink or eat a higher dose than you are used to. Caffeine comes in many forms, whether coffee, soda, chocolate or candy.

One health benefit of caffeine is that it is a metabolism booster. Caffeine speeds up metabolism and is the most important ingredient in diet pills. What happens is that caffeine breaks down fat, releasing fatty acids that are in turn burned, resulting in weight loss. While the fat is being burned, levels of glucose and amino acids or blood sugars remain high for longer. Low blood pressure is the same as being hungry. Don't take this to mean that you will lose weight if you drink a lot of caffeine-rich soda. It does not work like that.

Caffeine can also ease headaches. The stimulant caffeine interacts with headaches and slowly reduces symptoms. Try coffee, tea or cocoa; whether hot or cold, the more the caffeine the better. Even sodas like Coke or Pepsi can help. You will notice your headache start to disappear in no time.
