Grape for a Long Life

In many ancient cultures, grapes were used to mark celebratory events. Grapes were present at feasts and were much loved by the Greeks and Romans. Current generations have inherited this penchant for grapes, but have adapted the fruit to suit modern tastes. The fruit is used in different ways that highlight its popularity.

Of course, the raw grape is unmatched in every way. It can be described as a small and oval fruit, with or without seeds, depending on the species. Grapes are available in a variety of colors ranging from green to purple. They have a sweet but refreshing taste, which makes them a winning addition to any meal.

The grape is said to be rich in flavonoids, which gives it the purple color seen in some varieties. The red color of red wines is partly due to the presence of this substance.

People who drink are advised to take wine instead of spirits because of the various benefits associated with grapes. Drinking wine in moderation offers health benefits while also providing the pleasure of alcohol.

The 100 g test reveals that grapes contain several nutrients. For instance, there will be 50 IUs with vitamin and about 0.03 mg of Vitamin B. The Vitamin C content stands at 4 mg while calcium takes up 17 mg. The phosphorus content is estimated at 21 mg while the fat content is at 1.4 g. The carbohydrates measure up to 14.9 g and the protein content is 1.4 g. Altogether, 100 g yields 70 calories, which makes it a great diet snack.
