Healthy Eating Habit

80 percent of cancers can be traced to the food we eat. How is that for a statistic? I know it sounds scary. That is why I have created this page -- to inform, re-educate and help you build a healthy eating habit. Make sure you verify our statistics and talk to a doctor before altering your diet.

This is a vast subject. I decided to start with the basics and add to it slowly until I can form a bigger information center. Some of the eating tips recommended here are quite controversial. My advice is to follow these tips and see the results yourself.

I used to suffer from all sorts of digestion problems. You name it, and I had it. I visited many doctors. Each time, the problem ceased only briefly. I wanted a permanent solution. So I did my own research, asked around and read extensively. Eventually, I found several healthy eating habits.

My tips may be controversial, but they are a natural way of improving eating habits. I guarantee that my suggestions are better than any digestive pills available at the local drugstore. Why? Because these eating habits actually work! Moreover, they are safe, inexpensive and have no side effects.

How to Eat and Drink Properly
  • Control your drinking habits. Drink water 10 minutes before a meal or wait for at least 10 minutes after a meal. Why? If you drink during meals, you dilute your stomach juices. This could result in ineffective digestion. If you suffer from indigestion or gas problems, try this for a few days and see the difference.

  • Eat fruit before meals. Fruits are digested in the intestines, not the stomach. When you eat fruit after a meal, the fruit reaches the intestine only after the stomach has digested the other food. The digestion process becomes longer. If you are looking for a good way to lose weight, try eating fruit before meals. You will feel less hungry. You may eat less, but more effectively.

  • Remember what your mother always said, "Chew your food." Chew until the food turns semi-liquid. Most people just swallow food that they cannot chew. That is a bad idea. Remember, the mouth is the first stage of the digestion process. The goal is to chew until the food becomes really tiny. Bits that cannot be chewed sufficiently should not be swallowed. Be kind to your stomach. You will need it to work well for many years.

  • Live in calm, peaceful surroundings that reduce stress. Never eat when you are sad, angry or in a hurry. Do not eat under stress.

  • Do not lie on your bed or couch during or after meals. Remain seated while eating and maintain a seated position for at least two hours after meals. Otherwise, you could contract different stomach troubles.
