Walking for Fitness

Most of us know that walking for fitness is good for us. However, scheduling time for it everyday may be difficult. After being at work all day and dealing with everyday chores and stresses, it is hard to incorporate walking into our daily routine. If you are serious about walking for fitness, take matters into your own hands and make walking a way of life.

This means introducing walking for fitness into your daily schedule. For example, instead of parking your car beside the office, park 20 minutes away and walk that distance. Need to make a quick trip to the bank? Again, walk it there. You may find that most of the places you visit are within walking distance. Why drive when you can walk?

Many families spend time sitting around talking and going over the day's events. Instead of sitting in front of the television or lazing on the sofa, set out on a family walk. Turn this into a daily affair. Eventually you will find family members looking forward to this walking time. A walking for fitness routine could take you around the block, to the beach or the nearest park.

Change a few habits and walking for fitness will soon become a way of life.
