Walking WorkoutWalking with a partner increases commitment to a walking routine and the desire to stay fit. It is all too easy to forego the daily walk or shorten it when walking alone; you can give numerous excuses. Finding a walking partner is not that difficult. Ask family, friends or co-workers to take a walking workout with you. You could even take your pet dog along. Put up an advertisement in your office or community notice board. You should soon find a walker who can match your pace and distance. Even mall-walking with a friend is a great way to catch up on gossip and window shopping while getting a walking workout. Having a walking buddy makes your walking workout safer. Women, in particular, prefer not to walk alone; especially late at night or early in the morning and certainly not in isolated or poorly-lit areas. Take the "talk test" while walking with a partner, to ensure that you do not overdo your walking workout.
