Then you can continue to swap stories with your friends. Breathing -- sounds simple, doesn't it? Interestingly, there is more than one breathing method. Many researchers, including medical practitioners, have studied breathing methods. An increasing number of followers claim that learning the proper breathing method has improved their health. One breathing method that we know of is Buteyko breathing technique (BBT). A Ukrainian doctor named Buteyko developed this technique to treat asthma and emphysema patients. BBT also relieves symptoms resulting from conditions like obesity and migraine. It focuses on reducing stress and anxiety by controlling and regulating breathing to increase carbon dioxide in the bloodstream. Dan Millman developed another breathing method. He described it in his book, The Laws of Spirit. Millman calls breathing the conduit between mind and emotion. According to Millman, there is a call for balance and harmony between these two forces. In Conscious Breathing by Gay Hendricks, the author speaks of breathing disorders being at the core of illness. Hendricks says that all individuals have the ability to mix an "oxygen cocktail" -- which is nothing but deep, healthy breathing. As you can see, there are many breathing methods. Adopt one and you will be en route to a better physical you. Also Read: |
